Highspeed, slow motion impact

This was also a few years back, Danny Thompson in a newer Mustang. This video shows a couple things that I think are important.
Look how much he moves around when they show the slow motion. I know from experience that before a run the starter comes over and tightens the belts. I thought mine were tight enough, the starter made them tighter.
The other thing, imagine this without some sort of head/neck restraint...your frickin head would fall off!

I don't ever get in any Race Car without a HANS. I've got a New one on order

I do track days with a 2013 Camaro, not racing, would this be a cost effective solution?

Yes, but just like a Hans you need a proper harness in the car to utilize it.

Are you referring to a 5 point system over the factory 3 in his 13 Camaro?

Looks like the belts were loose or came loose. I dont see a neck brace? Lucky man.

I volunteered a few years ago for the Heidt's track day in Joliet. I was one of two people checking belts. I got all sorts of dirty looks about it, but that's the thing, there is no tightening action on most of those belts, so if they are a bit loose, they are VERY loose when you crash.
