200 Rated Tires

Anyone have any feedback since the new 200 rated
Tires that have come out??

Rival S, Hankook, Falken.. or????
Going to 18" and might even mix and match

Seems like Rivals are the only 335 tire... might go 275,285,295 or
maybe 315's up front.. need to test fit a 315 when the new wheels
show up

I recently changed to Dot Hankook Roadrace tires on the Pantera up front
and they seem to be better than my Kumo V710's that
were on back order.. so considering the 200 rated Hankook for the bird or??

Just wondering what the take on the new line of 200's are

Thanks,

Bob

Hey Bob, I got a set of 315/335 Rival S in my garage but they won't see any pavement for a couple/few more months...

in the meantime this is the thread I have been following on this topic:

Thanks Flash
My guess is Rival S if I go bigger on both ends
or a Bridgestone up front since the make a 285
then a 315 or 335 out back

I have Rival S's...245/40-18 & 335/30-18. BUT, they have seen street use only. After about 400 miles, I can say they do grip well. Maybe too well as I seem to be getting stone chips on the sides I didn't have before.
A little heat in the rears, and my 700 ft/lb BB will actually grip in 2nd gear if I roll into it.

Not much help you you racers, but my $.02.

Thanks for the input Bill
Wondering if you have any push
with the 245 335 stagger???
In my Pantera same 245 in front I found that I had
to go to 315's out back to get rid
of the push..... only a 600hp motor

Bird is 775hp with 640 lbs of torque
so hoping to do 335's out back
but 275 285 or 315's in front depending
on what will fit without to much pounding.. has 275's now

Sorry to say I don't know if it pushes in a corner. At this point, I am still respecting the new power, and have it pointing mostly straight when I am on it. It corners well enough that I am happy with it without pushing it hard enough to test the balance. But remember, I have a boat anchor up front. I am curious to find out the front/rear weight, but haven't had it on a scale yet.

It will, that's just to much stagger and front weight to avoid it. I never got all the push out of mine with a 295 up front.

I could plant my 650 hp big block in 2nd with R888's or BFG KDW's as long as I was in a straight line. Any deviation and I had to be more delicate with the pedal. I always found the major difference in lateral grip.

200 Tires

We have been playing with my Pontiac MR-1 block (weighs
a lot due to splayed caps, lifter bore bracing and the fact
I can bore it out to 545 inches)

Car pushed after I got the rear to hook up.. cut the front
sway bar shorter, heims, etc.. getting better.. still tweaking but now
going to 18's and hopefully larger contacts and still playing
with rear bar etc.. hopefully better rubber too

But the Power of 494 inches!!!.. yes

Sounds familiar. In my case, that's ok. I just drive it accordingly and enjoy the power on tap.
