Speedtech Front Suspension Help
I have a full speed tech front sub and am having clearance issues with the front ball joint hitting the inside of my wheels. This is using ride tech spindles. I will try to post pictures later but am on my phone at the moment. Backs pacing was ordered per speed tech as well.
Any ideas if not using their ATS spindles is causing the issue here? |
what wheels did you order and what back spacing?

Forgeline 18x9 6" bs based directly on information from speed tech. They are stepped lip wheels.
I called speedtech and they basically told me I have to find new steering arms and we're going to attempt to find me a place to get them. I realize I am going to deal with fit issues throughout the build but kind of frustrating considering what one of these setups cost... |
I had the same problem with mine. 18" x 10" Forgedline wheels.
I had a machine shop mill the steering arms and ream the ball joint holes with a tapered bit to get me the clearance I needed. |

I'm running the arms that were included with the speed tech rack and pinion setup.

When I talked to speed tech this is apparently somewhat common with any drop spindle. They even see this problem using their own ATS drop spindle.
I utilized the ride techs to save a few dollars since the ATS are pretty pricey. So far the only fix that is out there is to have the steering arms machined.... Edit: I just looked at the ride tech steering arms and it looks like those would correct the issue. Bret can you shoot me a PM and let me know if these are available by themselves? |
with that BS and a 2" drop spindle you will not be able to make it work. maybe with a 20" wheel.
just go back to the stock Camaro Spindle and your problem will be solved. You will not need the 2" drop to get the ride height where you need it. |

like above switch to the factory spindles. Classic Industries carries them, as do most other Camaro parts houses. |
