Qwik Performance Mini Compressor Low Mount - Vette Spacing (works for LSA)

So I am in the process of building my 72 (or more accurately at this stage it's at Sled Alley getting finished) with an LS motor I built. It's an L92 long block w/ a BTR stage 3 cam and LSA supercharger. Finding a solution for AC (a late add) had been quite fun. Options were to go aftermarket whole FEAD (Concept 1, Street & Performance), or....use stock FEAD (the altered one with high alternator) for LSA and figure out a compressor solution. Seeing as I had already bought the GM stuff and the better performing aftermarket stuff cost $2k more (and the worse of them had terrible reviews) I wanted to find something else.

I called Kwik to see if they had any ideas a few months ago and they happened to be working on a low mount for a mini-compressor. This would allow me to run GM FEAD and still hopefully fit. I got the bracket in (still a proto) I believe, and combined w/ the Sanden Mini-Compressor allowed me to run a low mount compressor with a small scallop in k-member and adjusting the holley mounts back. I believe on some cars it'd fit with neither.

Knowing how many people have LSA supercharger projects in the works this could help some others out I hope...

This is good news. I want to run a LSA but didn't want to deal with the compressor issues. If they solved this it will make my motor selection that much easier.

Any ideas if they plan to begin production? Do you have any photos?

I just got an e mail from Kwik with pictures of the brackets but I can't figure how to get them to my pictures folder.

I believe you can call and order now. See below note on photos haha.

Probably will take some modification to crossmember/mounts on most cars, but I can't picture anything else fitting low.

Probably my pics if in a car. Problem is they are too big for this site...

Here's where they are posted though:

Here are the pics. Wayne sent it to me, it is a PDF file, I pulled pics off of it to post.

Kwik Performance Low Mount AC Bracket for Sanden SD7B10--7176 “mini” compressor
Prototype V.4.2 mounted on truck engine with Corvette balancer (same belt spacing as LSA)

Two components bolt to original AC bracket holes.

Compressor driven by 4-rib belt running off the original AC balancer grooves.
Spring tensioner provides belt tension.

Bottom of tensioner well above bottom of balancer. Overall width from center of crank to outside edge of compressor approx. 12”.

Typical aftermarket engine mount with slight set-back from “stock” location with early SBC isolator. Front edge of engine mount still clears back of compressor.

I know it is a different animal, but I used Concept One for a low mount Sanden S7 on an LS9
i worked great and a nice peicee..they might have an option for LSA

Thanks Scot!
A little different question, does anybody have the location and dimensions for the pocket cut out to fit a compressor in the stock frame? I'm resigning myself that it will have to be notched to fit any one of them in.

The LSA setup has a high mount compressor and alternator from them (unless there's two options).

The high mount compressor is likely easier to package (unless it interferes w/ control arms), but I definitely like the look of this much better getting it out of the "air" and freeing up that space.

I agree I like it down low too.
