Coil Pack Relocation

What are some of you doing with your coil packs to relocate them? Self-made or off-the-shelf kits to relocate them in your engine bay.

I found some brackets made by CBM that fit the GM coils that came with my ignition kit. I had the brackets powder coated black and mounted them to a small cross-member in front of the engine on an Art Morrison sub-frame for a 67 Camaro. Also had to purchase ignition harness extension cables. The car isn't on the street yet so I can't report on how well the location works....

I relocated mine to the firewall with a kit from ebay. I did not need to extend my coil wires...just new spark plug wires. My shaker (mounted on the intake) hides the coilpacks ...makes it look like a 70's GM engine.

Thanks fellas. Doesn't look to be too hard to do.

Here is the kit I purchased..had to look a bit on my ebay history.

I've changed the shaker mount since the pic.

Really don't have to relocate them at all if you choose not to.... Here's my LS3 in the '33.... Billet Specialties makes various valve covers designed for this. I'm sure there are other less expensive versions - adaptations out there.

Does anyone know would there be any radio interference if you were to mount the coils under the dash on the "inside " of the firewall

Thanks for the link Leon. Greg, I've looked at various valve covers but decided to go for an old school look using original Chevrolet script valve covers.

Jose,
As soon as I switched to the GMPP aftermarket PONTIAC valve covers, my PCV valve began to leak real bad. I found that I needed to drill a new hole in the passenger side cover (in the back), and copy the factory routing. After that mod, the PCV returned to normal, and I also did the LS6 valley cover mod (just last year).

Off topic, who is the pretty young lady in your avatar?

Those are pictures of Matt Alcala's 69 Camaro that uses a set.
