Mounted up a G8GT rear seat and put some panels in my 69 Chevelle

No one commented on it over at the other PT site :( Thought I would post up here to get some opinions on my question. Its my first go around - Ive learned a lot about what not to do on the fronts.

Here is the 1 good pic of the install I felt I could post up. Never mind the dents, I had the panels sitting against each other before I put them in. The dents in the seat are from my kids car seats. Thoughts on these? You'll notice no winder crank - I have a slot cut out of the subpanel for a push button, I just havent done the power window conversion yet.

Disclaimer: I used the wrong type of foam under the soft touch covers - so its already starting to separate. I'll have to pull the covers, refoam, recover. A project for winter time. But I think it'll look much better once theyre properly stretched. Question - are they too plain? Should I get an interior trim piece like Clayton Machine sells?

Do you have a wider picture showing the fitment of the seat?

Thats a tough picture to get - I'll have to straddle the shifter knob. But I'll try.

I can tell you for certain though, that the width of the seat is PERFECT. It even has little cut outs in the back of the seat bottom for the factory wheel tubs. Its almost like it was meant to be.

Haha if it's too much trouble don't worry. It looks really factory and I've never seen this set up installed before.

I'll have to look at the G8 interior more closely for my own car. The GTO interior which I figured would be in the same vein never did it for me.

I like the side panel but the separation is definitely visible. Post it back up once it's rewrapped.

Overall I'm a fan.

Best,
AD

Looks awesome. Would like to see more pics too.

What's in the front?

Old stock in the front. I want to get the rear panels completed 100% before I do the front. Whatever I do on the back I'll carry over to the front as well. Im just not sold on whether or not I like the all black look - like maybe it needs something.

I like it overall. It does need something above the armrest, just not sure what it is. Maybe a speaker? I do like the seat a lot. So it's a direct fit? No mods? Hmmmm.....

Not exactly a direct fit. The seat back needed 4" of height cut out. Which we took from the bottom. The width is perfect. Then you have to fab up something to hang the left and right side seat backs on. I just made some u-shaped brackets.

You did a nice job. It looks great in there!
