How to get 335s in back of my 72 TA
Does anyone know how I can move my rear suspension in on my 72 Trans Am. I have someone lined up to do a mini tub and frame notch but how do I move my suspension. I see a lot of offset shackles for 1st gen f bodies but nothing for my 2nd gen. Hopefully you guys can help me cause I cant find anything.

Move your current suspension on ebay, and start with a differnet design that doesn't depend on leaf springs.

We have a nice, perfomance oriented 3-Link rear solution for your car. I have a 70 Camaro in my shop at this time getting a mini-tub job and full rear suspension install (and some other goodies too), there are some progress pics on the site. You can also see my own 70 Camaro project. I am sure there are other options out there, but this setup is ready to go.
Best of luck with your project, Mark www.lateral-dynamics.com |
There are some relocation brakets online some where I saw them before but cant remember where. Martz Chasis make a great suspension for 2nd gen camaro Im sure they should fit up with the 2 nd gen T/A. The cost is something like $1500 just the suspension but its cheaper then other stuff.

Thanks for the help so far guys. This search is frustrating cause there is nothing out for second gens that doesnt cost an arm and a leg. I know this hobby is not cheap but if only someone made a quick fix like relocation brackets while I save up for a kit like LDs. I emailed some fab shops and no one has got back to me. I would love to get the LD rear system but its a little pricey for me right now. Having three projects isnt helping either. I like the martz system but Id rather save up for the LD if im going to redo the whole rear. Markss28 you have to remember where you saw the relocation brackets Ive looked every where and came up short. Keep your ears open for me guys if you hear of anything that might help me out.

How drastic do you want to go? Check out these sites. Lots of pieces parts and info. If you want to retain the leaf springs (which will work fine) using the Nova rear rails from Autoweld would get you close and you can fab the front brackets or pick them up from Speedway.
