What battery

I've been searching for 2 days and calling distributors trying to decide what the right battery is. I have a dse optima mount and had planning on running a red top in my nova, however in recent searches I've found maybe the red top isn't the right battery for me. People having trouble with them loosing charge. This car won't be a daily driver so I need a maintenance free or mostly maintenance free battery. I've done some reading on other brands of AGM batteries. Interstate, napa gold, sears, odysses.... Any 1st account recommendations? I'll also need a new mount if you can direct me. Thanks guys.

I have 4 hot rods that all run the Optima batteries.... I keep them on Ctek chargers - set to the AGM setting. I haven't had any issues at all. Although I know that this brand has taken a huge quality hit since moving it's factory to Mexico from the USA.

Thanks Greg, knowing the quality has gone downhill would you risk buying another? I assume you're using redtop?

I had Optimas but I switched to Odyssey's battery, I will never go back to Optima.

I was looking at them today, but really wanted to avoid buying online in case of warranty issues. Battery plus can get them but they have 2-3 week wait time.

I went with a Braile B3121, weighs only 21 lbs, and coupled that with a CTEK charger for longer life.

I have red tops and yellow tops... and NO I would not replace them with more Optimas. I'd most likely switch to the USA made Odyssey. Or even a flooded cell battery made by Interstate (which owns Optima). All Interstate batteries are made in the USA EXCEPT the AGM Optima.

Ditto. Had an Odyssey for the last 3 years and very happy with it.

I have a pair of Odyssey PC1500s in my Duramax and one Odyssey PC1500 in Dust Off. It is IMO the best battery on the market today. I will also mention that EnerSys, the company that manufacturers the Odyssey, also manufactures the same AGM battery for Sears. So the Sears Die Hard AGM battery is manufactured on the same assembly line as the Odyssey only in a different color case. As everyone knows Sears is always having sales on their batteries so keep an eye out for Sears battery sales and you can save a few bucks. Here are a couple of links to Odyssey battery videos, the second one shows how they are manufactured.

I called sears today, they said they no longer sell those batteries. I'll be ordering an odyssey in the next few days and selling my dse mount. Thanks for all the advice guys! Always appreciated.
