vintage air ez clip fitting size vs crimp
I am trying to decide if the ez clip fittings will give the clearance I need for my compressor. I'd really like to find a side by side comparison of 90deg fittings. Or at least maybe some dimensions on a ez clip fitting. The crimp fittings simply are not tight enough. I need a #8 and #10. Any help or direction is greatly appreciated.

I googled around and found some files that may be helpful. - -see below.
EZ Clip - it gives the dimensions.. http://www.eaton.com/ecm/groups/publ...t/pll_1017.pdf |
I didn't have time to look for the specific fittings that you are referring to, but here is there master catalog that should have dimensions for just about anything that they make.

BTW - I found this site to be a good resource as well, when I was buying various fittings.

First link has exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!

I tried the EZ-Clip system and will never go back to the regular crimped style. It costs a little more, but the hose is smaller, more flexible which allows you to route the hoses in ways you can't with the regular hose. It is alos very easy to secure the fittings.
THe one downside other than the cost is there are fewer fittings and finishes available, but still well worth it in my opinion |
Do you guys buy the kit then purchase additional fittings or just buy what you need?

I bought the kit with the tool and a bunch of cage clips and then just bought the fittings and hose that I needed. I used it for both the AC lines and the coolant lines and it worked great on my '52 Chevy truck project.

Thanks Brandon, I'll probably just order the kit for now and do some testing with the supplied fittings. I hope they are tight enough to clear the frame rail from the compressor.

I use crimped and reduced barrier hose and fitting. Smaller and more flexible. Easier to route.
