Did a little test fitting last night...
 

Just thought some of you guys may be interested...

A friend of mine has a set of 18x10 w/ 5.5 inches back, and a set of 295. We were curious if they would fit at all on my car (67 camaro).. and well... to my surprise they did. there was actually about an inch of room between the inner fender and the tire.

all i have done to my fenders is have the lip completely trimmed off, and the fender mildly pulled with a fender rolling tool. an offset of 5.75 to 6 would have probably been ideal, but the 5.5 DID fit without issue.

also, my car is lowered in the rear via hotchkis leafs, and it looked like it could go about 1 to 1.5 inches lower without rubbing.

now drive the car and see if they rub, bottom the suspension out on a big dip or driveway, the same way you would driving the car. :unibrow:

yea i should go do that. BUT, he has no more room than i did, and he drives his car way harder than i do, and he doesent rub at all. so i dunno. there definently should be a little more testing and stuff, but so far as i can tell, they fit fine.

Here are the only 2 pictures i actually have, and they arent really that great.

there is just above an inch between the inner fender and the tire, so like i said, an offset of 5.75 or 6 would pull the wheel into the fender enough that there would be no issue with the fender lip.

Hey, what part of the Bay Area are you in? And what Bay Area? I've heard of three of them. Anyway, if you are local to me, I'd be willing to take a look and maybe show you what to look for. Pictures suck for doing this kind of thing unless they're taken right. Here's an idea though. Look under the car from the rear and take a picture up into the wheel well. That may help us that can't stop by and look get a better idea of what you've got to work with.

but as far as fitment, i didnt take any pics of the inner fender because the only camera i had at hand was my camera phone... and it doeent really have a great flash, so nothing really showed up.

ill be test fitting them again tomorrow, with a better camera so i can take better pictures.

but again, i would like to point out that my fenders HAVE been pulled out a little bit, along with having the fender lip trimmed up, so fitment on my car wouldent be completely like a stock car...

Once you drive the car on a road trip the tires will heat up and expand. Then you may be regretting it. Or maybe not I know the allure of big tires! :thumbsup:

I have a feeling there going to rub, in the 80's I ran 15x10 Centerline with 4 7/8 BS, I had a shackle kit on it only in the second hole, but try it!
