Late to the forums but here I am...
Bought my 68 Camaro on Nov. 1, 2011 and slowly started restoring and modifying it. Posting a picture of it now with the new rims I just purchased for it. A little about the car:
1968 Camaro RS/SS clone Procharged ZZ4 350 motor TH350 8.5 10 bolt rearend with 3.08 Posi Complete Hotchkis setup including multi-leaf springs, subframe connectors, chassis brace, sway bars, and front springs. CE Engineering Slide-A-Links Magnaflow x-pipe exhaust ...couple more things i'm probably forgetting. Just test fitted these 3 piece Nichee Stuttgart Concave wheels, specs: 19x8 Front 19x9.5 Rear I'll be posting more on forums. Nice to meet you all and thanks for viewing! ...and here is my 69!
Picked this one up in August of 2015 as is and have not done a thing to it....UNTIL I brought it home! We noticed nothing in the engine was torqued to specs starting at the intake bolts...:twak:
Found out that compression was lost in 2 cylinders so opened it up and sent the head to the machine shop for now... Some basics about the car: 1969 Camaro RS/SS 427 .060 over TH400 Ford 9" w/ 3.55 Mini tubbed Have a Ridetech Coilover Stage 2 kit that I will be installing as soon as I get a weeks worth of time to focus on it. Your going to fit in just fine. Sweet 68. Can't wait to see this 69. Welcome!

Your to fast. I started a post and walked away came back to post and didn't even know you posted the 69. Hopefully everything turns out ok on that.

Welcome to the site! You're never late to the forums. Great looking cars you've got there. Good luck with the builds

Just got the head back from the machine shop. Turns out it was not as bad as we anticipated it to be. Will be putting the engine back together this weekend, make sure everything is running properly, and began on the ridetech coilover install.
I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to get some input: As for the 1969 Camaro, considering the starting point (see pics above), how would you complete this build. I know that it is my car and I should build it how I want but I want to get mass appeal for this car so looking forward to hearing your ideas. Color schemes, rims/tires, ditch the ridetech and keep the stock suspension?, COPO tribute?, Yenko tribute?, ditch the 427 and go LS? etc... anything and everything. Nothing too crazy tho. Thanks in advance. |
