RideTech 4-Link

Having a problem with a 1969 camaro mini tub build. I was wondering about fitment with the mini tubs. Has anyone run into any issues?
Thanks,
Jon

Hey Jon,

Where are you having issues?

All of our cars that we've done have been mini-tubbed as well as several customers. On the cradle, there's one spot that will more than likely have to be trimmed off where the frame is notched for the mini tub. Other than that, there really isn't anything special that needs to be done.

I am having with leaf springs hitting the front of the wheel wells. I am wanting to put 4 link in because I am thinking I will have to cut wheel well no matter what. Sucks because it was painted and body guy said it was good but that's life

Oh, so you don't have the 4-link yet, you're just wondering if it's compatible with mini tubs. You could use the offset leaf spring brackets DSE sells and keep your leafs, but I think you'll then have issues with the factory fuel tank being too wide if you haven't already accounted for that.

Our 4 link is completely compatible with the DSE minitubs...we used the DSE tubs on the 48 hr Camaro.

Our 4 link interfaces with the inside of the oem framerail, and the underside of the framerail. When using the DSE tubs, the framerail is sectioned slightly, and part of one of our mounting tabs will need to be trimmed accordingly...about a 1 minute job with a side grinder. I am not personally familiar with any other minitubs, but I would suspect a similar experience.

Jon,
Where in MD are you located? If you are interested and not too far away you are welcome to come look under my 68 with mini-tubs and Chassisworks 4-link which is very similar in design to the Ridetech. You can see for yourself exactly what the install entails. BTW, the mini-tubs can be installed without disturbing the exterior paint. I'm located about 45 minutes from the 301 bridge in VA. If your interested PM me for details.

Steve
