Hi,

I finally got my car back from the body shop. Still in primer because I know I would scratch it doing the rest of the work if I had it painted the final color. The work done by the body consisted of repairing all of the rust, mini tub, sub frame connectors and shaving locks and handles. Looking for suggestions on how to proceed with the rest of the build. I have most of what I need to assembly a 347. Still need pretty much everything else. Plan on using the 8" rearend at least until I have it driveable.

Looking for suggestions on:

Fuel system: Plan on using a fuel cell. What type, need a return line? Engine will be carbureted.

4 link: Looking at TCI kit. Pros or Cons.

Disc Brakes: Wilwood or Baer. Pros or Cons. Don't plan to use anything larger than 17" rim.

Transmission: T5 probably from Modern Driveline.

Wiring Harness: One of my main concerns with this other than quality, is I hate the look of the engine compartment with wiring running everywhere. Is there enough wiring in harnesses to route/hide wiring. I figure not.

Front Suspension: Would like to try and improve stock components. Shelby drop, rack and pinion.

I'll attach photos once I figure it out. Not working so far.

Thanks Steve

Great start! welcome to the site.

When you order that T5-Z from Bruce talk to him about the upgraded cluster support, relatively inexpensive for the benefit you'll get.

Also consider cutting a new shifter hole and leaving the t5 rear shift. I did the front shift on my cousins 64 comet and it placed the shifter location way to close to the dash, even with a bent back style handle 3rd gear has your hand basically hitting the heater controls.

Thanks.

I'll make sure to ask about the cluster. It seems like the biggest reason for have it front shift is to get it away from the seat. I am not putting the bench seat back in so I won't have that to worry about. If it is rear shift will it still feel ok. It doesn't seem like it should feel like I'm reaching into the back seat going to 2nd or 4th, but that would be a concern.

Removed and disassemble the rearend today. First time taking one apart. Not that big of a deal. I guess the real test will be how it works once I put it back together.
