The "Olds" 350.....
Is there anyone that knows are has some input to say about creating a "383 -like motor with an Olds 350. What I'm asking is if there's a combo of parts that can be used to create a motor similar to the Chevy 383?? I know this might be a stupid question, my apologies.
Also has anyone built up an Olds 350, and have any recipes, or tips/tricks?? Thanks. |
I've never heard of anyone doing this, but here are the three cranks available from the factory.
Olds small block (330-403) 3.39" Olds big block (early400-425) 3.98 Olds big block (late400-455) 4.25 I'm guessing the 425 crank (3.98) would fit in the 350 making it slightly smaller than 400 but I don't know what sort of deck height problems you might run into. Just for giggles, here are bore & stroke numbers for Olds: 260ci 3.50X3.39 330ci 3.94X3.39 350ci 4.06X3.39 403ci 4.35X3.39 400ci 4.00X3.98 425ci 4.13X3.98 400ci 3.87X4.25 455ci 4.13X4.25 Hope this helps!
