How to paint shocks and struts...

I own Bilstein coil-overs and I am wanting to change the color from Yellow to Silver.

Is it possible to powdercoat these items, or will the heat destroy them?

How would automotive paint hold up on suspension parts. I am afraid that they will easily chip with the road debris.

I would paint them with a good automotive paint would work. You could add flex-agent to make them more chip resistant.

powdercoating would probobly burst the shock bodies.... there is fluid in side of them of some type..

Thanks for the input. I figured the powder coating wouldn't be an option but I thought I would throw it out there for someone that would have real world experience.
