New Dodge Ram truck?
I am in the market for a new truck and will be replacing an 02 2500 suburban I have been a GM guy all of my life but I am starting to look outside GM. I do occasional towing (7k lbs or less) a few times a year and it is mainly a daily driver. I was wondering if anyone on here has one of the newer EcoDiesel 3.0 Ram trucks. I test drove one of the limited models and it rode really nice. I am also interested in the Ram box beds that they offer. If anyone has any feedback on them (either positive or negative), please post up. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have a crew cab eco-diesel with 3.91 gears and the locking diff. I get 21-22 mpg in town and my last trip from Dallas to Houston in the 80mph+ category netted 26 mpg. I have yet to tow with the truck. I have about 14k miles on it now and so far no issues. I did not get the Ram box option. A guy I know who has that option loves it, he is a construction foreman and keeps a few things in there that he needs constant access.

I have 2 friends who lemon lawed their eco diesel trucks.

It's hard for me to jump on the Dodge wagon. It wasn't long ago that they built a pretty poor product and that means something to me.

Check out the GMC Canyon diesel

Just purchased a diesel Colorado after selling my 195 K mile 2500 Duramax, which was awesome and no issues with, and am super happy.
29 mpg hwy, 600 mile range, tows 7700 lbs, and super quiet. Easy to park also, LOL. Test drive it. |

Just sayin; If it's a dd, a Colorado (or Canyon) is a great little pickup for sure. If you're going to tow Anything close to 7k an inch more than a few times a year, get a full size. i love my diesel Colorado, but every time I pull something, I miss my full size. Just my two cents. |
