Ground straps

Wanted to know if not having all my ground straps hooked up would cause the gauges to flicker then shut off? Then it just shuts off all power to car and power won't come back on for a couple of days. Car is 85 monte ss with a 5.3/4l60 and has vhx gauges.

If you're loosing ALL power check the battery cables.

It could be a ground issue, but more likely a battery cable like ^^^ said. Or a bad battery (internal failure).
