any wave trac users?
 

pricing out a 3rd member with a vendor here on the board and they deal in moser so I was curious if anyone is using a wave trac, i'm looking looking to go tru-trac but thought id ask around first.

Subscribed! I too am in the market for a complete 3rd member looking for a Strange Pro aluminum bolt through with a tru trac complete drop in. i would also like to here some thoughts.
What gear are you going with?

I run a WaveTrac in my turbo LS9 RX-7. While I don't road race it... I have punished it with well over 200 passes making well over 1000rwhp. It is holding up well and doesn't make any unusual noises like a locker type LSD would.

I have a solid 8.8" out back with Mustang style 4 link bars so it isn't set up to handle.

I too have been pretty much dead set on a Strange or C&R built 3rd, have been looking at the tru trac as well, although the soft lockers and wave tracs have caught my eye. Im leaning towards 3:70 gear with about a 26" tire, I have seen a 3:64 gear option which is kind of hard to come by.

I just need to be real with myself and know that it will be 90% street car and 10% track car.

I have a 3.64 Locker I got as a take out from Roush Yates. They have all kinds of "tweener" ratios they resell for $800-900. Looked to be in great condition although we have not ran it yet. Added the Sutton locker springs too.

I bought the same 3rd member from Roush with ,polished gears,heavy duty pinion support,oil cooler pump installed and they even swapped out the heavy locker springs to 40lb springs. Can't beat the price for $950 shipped.

I tried a wave-trac and it started slipping after 2 events. The tru-tracs live longer but they're not perfect either. I'm considering a Strange S-trac and a locker at this point because both of those have the ability to tune the engagement/disengagement and be rebuilt. The tru-trac you throw it in the trash when it starts slipping, there's no rebuilding them.

Tru Trac lasted less then a year. Put a Locker in and I really like it.
