t-56 magnum shifter removal

So this may be a very dumb question but is removing the stock shifter on a t-56 magnum as easy as unbolting the 6 bolts? Is there anything I should watch out for when removing? should I put it in neutral or anything like that?
Thanks

That's it, it's pretty simple. I put it in neutral and pull to the side to break the seal.

The only thing I would add is that there is a plastic bushing in the shift rod that the shifter fits into that came out when I removed my T56 Magnum shifter. Just be sure it is in place when the shifter is reinstalled. I also seem to remember some one selling a brass replacement T56 shift bushing that seems like a good upgrade.
