Best undercarpet heat insulator

What the consensus on thermal protection for the floor. I have already put Dynamat Extreme on for sound deadening. Now I need to move on to heat insulation since the headers and exhaust are tucked up within 1/2" - 1" of the floor.

Manufacturers use more shielding products outside the cabin than in. Take a look at the auto product offerings here https://www.heatshieldproducts.com/a...t-shield-guide it may give you some ideas.

Air space and air flow are your friend.

That's a lot of components. Is there a 60s-70s Camaro or Firebird build on here with the stuff that sticks to the bottom of the car? I'd like to see how it holds up.

I've heard good things about DEI heat shield.

I don't have any first hand experience with it.

HushMat # 20300. I think it comes in 1/2" thick pieces the ones I'm referring to.

I have that stuck to the bottom of a customers 69 Camaro for nearly 5 years now.....still there. Have had the trans out a couple of times in it wasn't sagging anywhere.

I use that with DEI UnderCarpet lite and it works pretty well.

I used a bunch of the DEI heat shield on my fire wall, transmission tunnel and fuel tank. Good stuff. Has held up well for almost 4 years. I used the tape they sell to seal the edges and seam. It looks very OEM and does a good job of keeping the heat out.

I've used the DEI product also, have about 1500 kms and no issues, sealed the edges also and was stuck to a newly painted surface underneath.

That does look like a nice product however it installs on the Exterior. I wouldn't want to see that on my firewall. If I used it, I would do the trans tunnel. Kinda out of sight. Just my .02

I used a second skin audio product. Heat wave maybe? Worked like a champ. My right heel used to get hot through my shoe from the collector and it totally cured that. Foil on both sides, jute-like material in the middle.

Yep: http://store.secondskinaudio.com/the...sulation-mats/
