2nd gen, is narrow tank needed for TA and mini tubs?
 

Looking at the new efi tank holley just release, but plans next winter call for speedtech TA rear and mini tubs. If I'm going that route do I need a narrowed tank to go 335's? Or is that just if I were doing leaf spring relocation?

You need more room at the front corners of the tank. Look for a tank that has those corners cut off at a 45 degree angle. The tail pipes run past them. For anyone thinking of narrowing a leaf spring setup, I would recommend going to a 3 or 4 link suspension instead.

85 % sold on the speedtech setup torque arm setup. Just trying to plan for future mini tubs and steam rollers!

I don't want to sound discouraging on this thread but I was "sold" on getting a torque arm setup, minitubs and 335's as well but have since been on the track of just building my leaf spring suspension. When you see that many have ran 315 tires with leaf springs and stock wheel wells on 2nd gens, you have to ask yourself if the cost is justified to get to the 335 status. Link suspension, coil-overs, minitubs, 11" wide wheels, narrowed gas tank, big brakes, 335 tires, tools, paint, and/or labor will push you past $10k in a hurry. If you can afford it, then go for it.
