Sure ...anything can be saved ...it's if your wallet will allow it

Yeah that is true, wondering what it would cost to repair or if i would be ahead by just getting a repo hood.

i would strip the rest of the hood to see if you had any other issues. It doesn't look bad from the pics.....is the structure of the hood damaged?, how does it fit on the vehicle? you could buy a repro for cheap but you will spend alot of money getting it to fit correctly. looks repairable to me as long as you don't have any rust or overall structure issues

Thank you the underside looks perfect no damage at all and no rust to be seen on it yet. That is why I was very surprised to find this. I am going to continue taking off the paint and hope that is the only bad spot

Can you push it out from the underside ?? Doesn't look too bad really.

I think the metal is stretched and will need shrinking as near as I can tell from those pics. You can get a shrinking disc and instructional DVD on eBay. Good learning opportunity.

I agree anything can be saved, but at what cost. These hoods are not that hard to find.

I'd agree and, yes 100 percent that hood has been stretched. My two cents would be get another good and start fresh

I have been looking for a good used GM cowl hood now for several months. They all have issues, filler, hood pin holes filled in etc. This thread is a perfect example of what's out there, Junk. Just sayin.
