TCI vs Scott's Chassis
 

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to this forum so thanks in advance for any information and your opinions and experiences.

I'm looking at buying a complete rolling chassis for my 1954 Chevy Pickup. I'm looking at the air bag chassis as I want to lay the truck on the ground. Using a big block 454 that runs about 510hp with a 700R4 transmission. Diff gears will be 3:55 to 3:70.

I got a price from both TCI and Scott's and their prices are comparable. I'm leaning towards the Scott's as they seem to offer a few more options, set up and ready to go.

I have been looking online and see that there are a few bad reviews about Scott's but I see nothing negative about their complete chassis.

Have any of you used either one of these chassis and have you any issues or opinion on which to use?

Nova clip
 

A buddy of mine bought a Nova front clip from Scotts and it did not fit......at all. Sent it back. He was not happy with the service from them.
TCI stands behind their products.

I have TCI under my Nova and am very happy with it. Well thought out, seems to be high quality.

I have Scott's IFS front clip and triangulated rear setup in another project I am building. Not on the road yet but also seems to be well thought out and high quality. I spoke to Justin directly when I ordered, he was a huge help on building a one-off for my project.

Without a doubt, TCI for that application.

8" fully boxed framerails are enough to make it worth it. Plenty strong, tons of room for big exhaust. Add in RideTech shocks and 6 year, 60,000 mile warranty and it gets much easier to make the decision.

Thanks guys for helping me out. I have been checking into the No Limit Chassis, as dhutton mentioned. They sure seem to build a good product. Great to deal with so far as I have like a ton of questions.

Anyone have any issues/opinions on No Limit?

Rob (the owner/engineer) at No Limit is a cool dude. He's posted extensively on pro-touring.com, and a lot of us have hung out with him and pelted him with many questions at autocrosses. He's always got good answers, and he knows how to make a truck fun to drive!
