Quintin Brothers 1970 Challenger Build

Hi everyone!

We are new to the forum and I have recently started an intro thread you may refer to. We are a 6,000sq ft Performance @ Restoration shop in Williston,VT. We have been open since 1999 and work on anything from mini-vans to land speed cars!

We are getting ready to start a build on a clients 1970 Challenger and figured this would be a good start as our first online build thread.

Just a quick rundown of the car:

1970 Dodge Challenger- Original 440-Auto-R/T car.

Currently the car is being used as a nice driver.. okay paint, some leaks, older restoration, but a overall not bad looking car to have some fun in.. after meeting and discussing many options with the owner, this is what we have decided that will be the fate of this car.

Car will be stripped, mounted on the rotisserie, media blasted and then will be getting all the needed body panels replaced... along the way, the car will be upgraded with full Hotchkis suspension, Wilwood disc brakes, BOSS wheels and more!

There will not be one bolt on this car left untouched.

I know this car isn't a full pro touring build, but we figured it would be a great start to show some of what we do here!

Here are some starting pictures of the challenger!

Cool build, what suspension will you be using?

This one will be getting hotchkis upgraded front suspension while still retaining the stock control arms. The rear will be getting their performance leaf spring set up as the client does not want to modify the body of the car for 4 link.

I like those cars and that one looks like a nice foundation.

Nice to see a MOPAR project.

What are the plans for the drivetrain?

That sounds vaguely familiar...

Good to see another Mopar getting built to be driven!

As we've seen so many pro-touring cars with multiple body mods, spoilers, and big wheels, I've started to appreciate stock looking cars as long as they have good stance. That Challenger just looks so good and right with lots of chrome and the vinyl top - I hope the owner keeps it that way. The wheels are just right too - if new bigger wheels are in the cards I hope they are something that retains vintage styling. But his car his choices !

So far plans are just mild rebuild on the 440, 727.. and hopefully we can talk him into a modern fuel injection setup to top it off!
