T-56 Reverse a real SOB!!
Just drove my car for the first time this weekend . After going over everything with Troy he told me reverse was a little hard to get into !!! Well I would be okay with a little hard but I literally have to use two hands to put this thing in reverse. I guess my question is, is this normal ??? I did have the trans completely up graded from the stock unit so I'm wondering if this is the reason for it being so hard. Just checking to hear if anyone else has this problem .

You are having to overcome the reverse lockout spring, because the solenoid is not retracted. I plan to use this on my next build and have it incorporated into the harness. You could wire it in fairly easily to your setup using the brake circuit to activate the solenoid.

Totally agree with Z06Vette... I had the same issue until I hacked the solenoid into my brake light switch. Plan to install the American Powertrain Lock-out solenoid switch (http://americanpowertrain.com/i-2388...e-6-speed.html ) as I've scared myself downshifting from 6th with the brakes on and almost slid in to reverse.

Please post up more driving experiences for this awesome car when you get the little gremlins sorted out. Pretty cool to see it on the road and congrats for sure !!

If using an LS engine & OEM ECM, you can add it the circuit to control the solenoid. Program the ECM for manual trans. That is what I did.

You can have the brake activate it. Or you can use the ECM to activate it. I prefer ECM method.. since it's tunable (unlocked and locked parameters) by vehicle speed. But if you don't have a spare ECM pin laying around.. brake power and a ground to the other wire works well. We did both on Glassman's car. He's running ECM controlled now.

Yeah, I wired mine to my brake lights too. Works like a charm.

Handy post - we're nearing completion of our LSA/TR6060 install and we were wondering how the GMP LSA controller kit would go with this
