Wilwood recall
https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls?nhtsaId=17E030000
Quite a few vendors on here that sell Wilwood, surprised nobody has said anything. :headscratch: |
I have not received anything from Wilwood regarding this, but I also don't think I have bought any 7/8 masters either.
|
It seems that this information should have gone out to _all_ dealers and distributors. How stupid do you feel if a customer walks through the door with a NHTSA safety recall and you don't know anything about it.

Now that I'm home it looks like I'm a winner and get to pull my MC....yipee! |
Thanks for posting.
I actually have a 7/8 master and one time at a GG AX the brake pedal went to the floor and I had no brakes in the middle of a run. They pumped back up when I gave a second/third pump but I about sh*t myself in between then. Luckily I was able to bail out of the course safely before the second lap. I could never figure out why it happened, at least I now have an idea. |
This is just my luck , I have had my MC for 3 years and just got it installed and bled a few weeks ago so I could start driving my car again. Now I get to pull it all back apart. Oh well, I needed to adjust the piston rod setup anyway. 2 steps forward and 3 steps back...LOL

Crap. We use a LOT of Wilwood Tandem 7/8" master cylinders in our brake packages. For the most part, they have worked well. (We are a Wilwood dealer since 1983)
I have a lot of customers with these specific Wilwood Tandem 7/8" master cylinders that are in the recall. I have a request into Wilwood for how to handle this. As soon as I find out, I'll place notice on here & email all my clients. |
I've also reached out to see what needs to be done and will report back.
Seeing as how the MC has to come out, I might as well........lol |
