What emergency brake to use?
I am looking for ideas on what to use for a hand emergency brake kit in my 69 firebird track/street car. Rear brakes are wilwoods with drum e-brake.

Are you using a console?
Do you still have the original foot brake on the kick panel? I ended up using the hand brake and console out of a 2002 Camaro. Lokar makes a stand alone hand brake for the floor. :superhack: :flag2: |
Pretty sure Ironworks was making a bracket that made the mounting of a Lokar hand brake more robust.

I have both the Lokar brake handle and the Ironworks mount that I'm not going to use. I'm willing to sell if you're interested. I'll have to see what I have in them and what I will sell at. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I'm no master fabricator, but I think I could make the mount:) I might be interested in your parts. Does the handle come with cables, or do you use the stock ones?

It does not come with cables. Those will need to be ordered separately. For my project (71 Olds Cutlass Supreme), I chose to use the OEM foot e-brake and bought cables (intermediate and rear) to attach to my Wilwood drum-in-hat brakes.
I'll try to post a picture tonight when I get home from work and give you a price. Here is what they look like as found online. https://photos.google.com/photo/AF1Q...CKSJkNatFSyZ3e |
