I've gotten some pics from Adrienne in Austin -- the RAIN is crazy!!

carbuff 08-26-2017 10:40 AM

We've gotten 3" in Austin so far, but we're in a lull at the moment. More is on the way... I've heard that coastal areas are predicted to get as much as 40" of rain over the next few days. Flooding will be rampant for a while...

Heavy rain and street flooding, but we missed the damaging winds.

The worst part is the gas stations around us are out of gas.

Where I'm at (NE Houston), the rain has been sproradic.

I am located in Crosby on the east side of Houston we have gotten right at 14" since yesterday morning at 4:00. it looks like lots more still to come.

Here is a great link to Harris County flood control that shows real time and historical rain amounts.
You can select on one of the boxed and then go to more detail to get large selection of information about that point.

Help Texas

This may be out of line or offensive to some, but I would like to ask each of you in the automotive community to donate your months Hot Rod build budget to the RED CROSS to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey. Six million folks will be affected by the storm, we can all see the devastation on TV. Insurance will help a very small portion of those who loose everything. Those of us fortunate enough, can help. I grew up in Texas, and fishing gulf coast region was awesome. To see the community come together and all the locals launching their boats in the swollen rivers and roads to help rescue the folks in need is overwhelming. I wonder how many hot rods, race cars, and unfinished projects are underwater today. Please donate what you can to the Red Cross, so they can help shelter and feed those who have lost everything.

^ personally not a fan of the Red Cross. I'm sure they do good but I've also seen abuse up close (on a technology buy) and it aint pretty.

Prayers to all affected by the hurricane and please Stay Safe.
