Landrum spring adjusters (or equivalent)?

Good day all.

I'm in the process of upgrading the front end of my '69 Firebird. I'm going with the Speedtech upper and lower arms, and probably the Touring Classics C5 brake kit. I'm also going to replace the front springs. Since this is a Pontiac engine, I was considering something like the Hyperco 5"x9.5" 650 or 700 lbs/in springs. I would like to use something like the Landrum LSS320 spring adjuster as well (I got this part number from Mr. Pozzi's website), but Landrum doesn't make them anymore. Is there an equivalent type of product out there? And does my choice of spring rate seem to be in the ball park? The car is primarily a weekend warrior, but autocross and/or the odd track day is in it's future.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Cheers,
Ken

Have you tried calling Landrum to find out if they make an adjustable coil spring spacer like the LSS320? That's the part I have on my car.

Speedway Motors is one of their distributors so could also try them.

Tyler at ATS also carries his own version with a few tricks thrown in for 1st gen f-bodies.

Here's the email that I sent to Landrum and the reply that I got back:

Good morning Ken,

Landrum Spring only manufactures springs at this time. I believe you should be able to find the same exact product at any major racing warehouse. I am not sure who to point you towards in Canada, but Lane Automotive in Michigan (800-772-2678) should be able to supply you with any accessories that you may need. Thanks,

Subject: Landrum spring adjusters

Good day.

Are the Landrum spring adjusters (part # LSS320) still available? And if so, do you have a distributor in Canada that I could purchase them from?

I'll check out ATS though, thanks!

Got mine from www.speedwaymotors.com

Thanks for the info. I'll update my website.

The ATS part is a drop-in, no mods necessary.

Here ya go http://www.speedwaymotors.com/xq/asp...qx/Product.htm

I couldn't find them on ATS's site

Thanks everyone!

I found them in ATS's catalog. Does anyone have any opinion on the ATS ones versus the ones from Speedway? ATS mentions studs welded to the buckets. Is this an important feature? I like the fact that the ATS ones already have the correct profile to fit in the spring pocket on the frame, but are they worth twice the money of the Speedway ones? The cost is not huge either way, and I like how ATS has come up with some wonderful products for these old cars.

Sorry for so many questions about this...

They are esentially the same, but the ATS part is already profiled to fit the spring bucket and has a stud attached so that it can be bolted into the bucket. This makes it easier to install the spring.

I couldn't find them on the web site either, but they are in their catalog that you can download from ATS Downloads They are on page 5 of the catalog.

Cheers,
Ken
