Lincoln mig welder issues
 

I bought a used Lincoln Pro Mig 140 about a year ago and it crapped out on me a month ago. The voltage/heat selector stopped working and the wire feed selector and voltage/heat switch are tied into a circuit board. Factory rep said it is a $300 board. I am looking for a used board for it with no luck. Any suggestions?

Sell your welder for parts. But an eastwood mig 140. I use mine all the time for small jobs (usually outdoors using flux) and my miler 251 for suspension work etc.

Eastwood has a lifetime satisfaction guarantee. I've used it before for some bead roller dies I bought from them . They gave me a full refund 5 months after I bought them. You can't beat the eastwood mig 140 for the money.

Unless the Eastwood welder comes with a metal wire drive mechanism, I would not recommend it. My first welder, bought in 2010 or so, was an Eastwood Mig 135, and it had a plastic drive gear set up. I got a lot of good use out of the thing, several years' worth (yes, I got my money's worth at $300.00), but the drive mechanism eventually self-destructed. (It still works if you hold it together with a Vise Grip.) Even the Harbor Freight units come with metal drive mechanisms now. My Miller 211 replacement was absolutely worth three times as much in every way.

A warranty that goes forever is great, but it's much easier to just spend a bit more now. Anyone who has bought a new car that turned out to be a lemon knows the joy of a great warranty . . .:bang:
