Welcome, I have a 1961 Impala as well. Not a lot of Impalas on this forum.

I love the 61's. I want one so bad.

Jeez, looks like you have a decent chunk of the hard stuff done, I vote that you hang in there and try to finish it... but hey, watdahelldoIno?

I agree with ShelteredV but I build my own stuff and do my own stunts.

I wish I could. I still have a 63 Falcon Sprint Convert. 260 4 Speed to finish. It's almost done. Hard to finish them in a 3 car garage.
I have a master plan. Finishing the Falcon and Bubbletop. then sell them.
After I sell them, I am going to build a 60 x 100 pole barn. Then I can hoard cars!

Thanks for the reply.

Fellow Minnesotan here. Looks like a sweet project, would love to see the Falcon. I can ask around. Most of the guys I know in MN are swamped with projects. You could check with Fast Freddie's in Eau Claire WI.

Nice! Love the '61 Impala (learned to drive on one: 348, 3X2s, 3-speed on the column).

One bit of advice (if you haven't already), check, check, and triple check the welds where the rear, lower control arms mount to the frame. I converted that '61 Impala I learned to drive in to a 409/4-speed, and one day, while involved in a quick little stoplight battle, ripped the right lower frame mount right off the frame when I hit second gear. :confused59: We had done a frame off on that car, and everything had looked great. There was no rust, just a factory weld that hadn't penetrated like it should have.

Believe it or not, I kept the car on the road, and had it towed home where we fixed it and added a second upper link.
