LS1 brake swap on Chevelle

This is my first post here on Lateral G and I hope someone can help. I have completed the front C5 brake swap on my 70 Chevelle, and I am now trying to figure out what to do for the rear. I am pretty much set on swapping late model LS1 camaro brakes over (backing plates/calipers/disks etc), but I have one major concern and the answer seems to be elusive. Is there any definate way to get the parking brake to work correctly while maintaining the factory chevelle park brake pedal/cable assembly?
Any direction on this issue would be greatly appreciated. I dont have the swap parts in hand yet (i'm sure it would help me figure it out) but i dont want to buy them and be stuck wioth something i'm not gonna use. Thanks in advance.

Go with the 93-97 Z28 brakes. They are almost a direct bolt on and will allow a forward ebrake cable mounting just like OEM. There are companies out there that sell the lines or you can just order the cables from BAER. The Z brakes are the same as the bear rear brakes. They use an 11.75" rotor with the aluminum PBR calipers with integrated ebrake lever. This is what I have on my ride.

Thanks nitrorocket, The Z28 set-up was something else I had thought of. You dont happen to have any pics of your set-up do you? Also did you use the factory z-28 backing/mounting plate or fabricate one?

I can post a pic later today tonight. I used the factory mounting bracket from the Z.

Thanks a lot! I'd really appreciate that. I'll check back later.

Here are some real old pics from 5 years ago. They are the only pics I have of the brakes in the rear.

Are those the same wheels I see in the background from 5 yrs ago ? How long have you owned your car . That rear and underside looks pretty clean

I have had this car for 13 years, 6 motors, and 2 frame off's(first frame off did not turn out with a glossy enough underbody)!. The car is fairly mint, but it is a driver. I bought those wheels new in 1999! I was one of the first people on the block with 17X 11's!! No they are old news. :(

Thanks for the pics - if I go with that set-up and order the cables right from Baer, is that it? Do the cables just basically "fall" into place or is there any other parts i will need to buy and/or fabricate. Again I appreciate your help, thanks.

Fall right into place.
