Z06 wheels on 65 chevelle?

anyone know if this will fit? I have a chance to get a set of original 03 Z06 wheels with factory vette tires for a great price. If spacers are needed that would be fine as long as they don't have to be too deep. Just mainly wondering if the rears will fit w/out minitub.

Thanks in advance.

Big spacers will be needed, but they would be the bolt-on type so I wouldn't worry about that. As for the mini-tub, I don't know. It's been too long since I was under a '64-'65 Chevelle.

'64-65s are pretty limited for room in the rear... I'm not sure how much space there is, but you may find what you're looking for in one of the sticky topics here: http://www.chevelles.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=17

The Z06 wheels are going to have what they call an HPO ( high positive offset ) center. If you bolted them straight up... they would be completely sucked under the car and may look a little on the retarded side. I personally do not like using a spacer to accomplish the extra spacing you will need to take up. You are essentially adding additional leverage to your lugs and depending on the quality of the spacer or adapter... you could also have balance or tolerance problems.

Some have used adapters in place of spacers to run Corvette wheels on A-bodies

well, seems that dream was shattered quickly. Found out that his Dad is getting the wheels for his 65 Vette I think... I may try to find another set. The idea caught my attention and the more I think about it the more I like it.

Even if the wheel offset on them would work, they are too wide to fit under a 64-65 without major mods. IIRC,the fronts are 17x9.5 and the rears are 18x10.5.

Thanks Clint, I wasn't sure of the widths but thought both were too wide no matter the offset.
