Shocks 69 Fbody

Looking for some good shocks for my 69 firebird. Not too expensive of course but best shock for the buck. I occasionally track the car so some adjustability would be a plus.
Suggestions?

I have DSE valved red Koni's in the front and DSE stock mini tub JRi's in the rear. Real pleased for my application. Mini tubbed 69 Firebird convertible w/ LS1 GTO engine & Tremec TKO 600 five speed. Car is not raced.

You very well could purchase some nice used high end shocks in the wanted section, guys here are constantly upgrading, there are some good deals to be had.

Is the car factory height or lowered? I would recommend looking into our Q series shocks. They're a very nice piece that have about 24 clicks of adjustment to help you dial in the car to your liking. They're not the cheapest out there but they're built to last (lifetime warranty) and give you what you're looking for :).

Shocks

Thanks for the recommendations. I ended up with a pair of QA1 single adjustable shocks. Now the issue is I am running stock lower control arms and the shock body is bigger than the hole it's supposed to go through. If I cut/grind it big enough I will severely weaken the mounting area. I'm thinking I may need to break one of the ball joints and slip it inside the springs and button it back up. Hopefully I won't have to R&R shocks very often.

Big shocks on my 69 bird

So it turns out GM engineers faced the same problem in later years when larger bodied shocks were used. This seems to be how they addressed it. Pretty simple and doesn't impact he integrity of the mounting bolts. Couple of hours with a die grinder and fitting and they are in. Not too bad.

I do hope those bolts are not tightened in the picture. If they are, please get some longer bolts that engage the full nut including the lock area. This setup is not the strongest with good bolts. One big pothole and the upward movement of the control arm will stress the bolt and thin metal of the factory arm. Aftermarket arms usually have a good 1/4 inch plate on the bottom so at least the arm will survive. Can you get the shocks on the top of the arm?

Bolts

I can't remember if they were all the way tightened at the time the pic was taken but probably not a bad idea to check them to be sure. I don't think there's enough wiggle room to get the tie bar inside the hole to mount them on top of the arm. I was a little concerned about having enough collapse able travel mounted on top because the car is lowered already.
