Goodguys Pleasanton Aug 23-25

I was thinking about going and doing the autox for the first time w/ my 71.

Anybody else planning to go to the autox event? Or even to the show portion?

If I don’t work I’m going to go watch the Goodguys auto-x.

If it’s not 100f. I might run at the crowslanding auto-x the week before.
I’d probabaly just run over all the cones at that tight pleasanton track.lol.

nothing like running over all the cones in front of 1000 people watching!

So I have never run this car on the track - new car to me and new setup especially the brakes. I am a bit apprehensive myself to run on such a small course with so many people watching in a car I've never had at the track.
Not to mention I haven't autoxed in 10+ years. I'm sure I'm more than a little rusty. My last track experience was road racing in a NASA series (CMC) and even that was about 10 years ago. Took a break from all this stuff while paying for private HS and colleges. Now I'm on the back end of that ride and ready to tip my toe gently in the water. :peepwall:

Go to the Crows landing one in the valley,it's maybe 30-45min from Pleasanton area, they setup a practice track also, good for a new build/car.
Lots of guys that run goodguys go there.

They run next weekend the 27th also. I think it's going to be 100F though, I don't come out of my house when it's that hot ,lol

Oh practice track? At every event? that would be perfect!

I was thinking about going to the crows event in August. but ya, maybe not if it's 100!

Also need to consider if I drive the car there (100miles) or trailer it. I'd have to borrow a trailer - sold mine years ago. At least I have a tow vehicle. The car should make it there and back in theory - but again, first time on a track you don't know what you don't know.

Normally a practice track at every event. think it's an extra $30.

I'm probably not going to auto-x there that weekend. I live close by, but that seems to be the only event i have time for.
I like it, it beats mowing the lawn, but it is like jogging in a closet. Very exhibitionish, which is good in its own respect. In where as most auto-x and track days are not.
