Crazy Maryland MVA
 

From 2000 to 2002 I lived in Maryland. In 2002 I moved to Belgium and have never returned to live in Maryland -- the taxes were way too high.

Imagine my surprise today when I received a bill from the state of Maryland about their FineFix program and that I owe the state about $900 for having an uninsured vehicle. According to the letter, they can garnish tax returns, etc.

I really feel for those who live on the coasts. Sometimes the bureaucracy is absolutely crazy!!

Sorry, had to vent. This kind of stuff is just nuts!

Yeah, those automated systems can be a pain. I'd try calling to see what it would take to clear up the situation. Good luck getting it resolved.
