ISO Silver that flops black
1 Attachment(s)
So any help would be appreciated. Been looking for that right color on a 69 camaro build and silver keeps coming to mind. So as I obsess about every silver car I see on the road a few stand out, but I would really like to find a silver that flops hard black. Kinda like this 63 sapphire blue vette flops black but in silver. This 63 vette was painted by Heartland customs. I believe they source there paint from painthousetx.com so I spoke with them and their response was it's too difficult to get a light color to flop black. In any case I continue to search

I know this doesn't help, but what is "flops back" ?
Thanks |
Dave Kindig has a couple of silvers in his Modern Classikk paint line. Cha Ching Silver and Fully Leaded. Might be worth checking out. Cha Ching is a tri coat with a black base.

The new Ford Iconic Silver flops pretty dark. Not sure exact silver you’re looking for - but I like that one a lot.

I looked at the one Dodge uses on the Viper and it does a nice flop for sure.

Hey I just realized I had some replies to this post, and yes by flop I'm mean looking straight on at the paint you see the color, look at it on an angle and the color changes. Honda has a nice silver but it flops blue, some silvers don't flop they just look silver from any angle, some look gray, but it's difficult to find silver that flops dark black . I have been looking at Iconic silver, it's close to what I'm looking for. I need to study the paint process more to see how the base coat will effect how it flops. I'll have to look at Kindigit's
Thanks for you replies |
Looked at the Viper silver, it's called billet silver and I see it on a lot of jeeps, always catches my eye
