back purge regulator

I'm finally getting to the point with my tig welding that I need to get a back purge regulator setup. I was hoping I could just add it to the existing regulator since it has a port that's unused. Where can I find a good, economical unit? Do I have to buy a dual regulator?

Thanks

Check out www.arc-zone.com they are super knowledgeable and great people and they have everything you need welding-related. Check out their website but give them a call and tell them what you're doing and looking for and they can direct you to the right accessories.

If you already have 2 argon regulators... just buy a bottle T. Been doing it for years. Saves having to buy a second bottle. I also suggest buying the largest bottle possible. Saves a ton of hassle.

There is a check valve option... When I bought there wasn't, Its not a necessity. I typically just run one regulator until I know I'll be doing lots of backpurge welding.

If you dont have a second argon regulator, Hop on amazon and search "Dual Output Argon Regulator Flowmeter"

Any other questions, feel free to ask

I was hoping to simply have a dual output regulator and not use the second output when I'm not needing it. Is that possible? I thought that might be a little less expensive too since I don't need a second pressure gauge.

Please read my above comment.

Back purge is in the 10 cf range. If your using a big Furick cup, that will be in the 30-35 cf range. You really need the ability to regulate the gas flow for the purge and torch separately to get the CF right for both. Dual regulator is the only way to accomplish this, and the outputs can be shutoff to use one or the other, or both. Here is mine, the way I have it turned, the helium scale is on the front and Argon scale is on the back, so I just transferred the scale to the front with a Sharpie. I only use Argon.

You're right, protour, I read your comment incorrectly the first time.

That's actually the setup I was hoping for, Craig.

I bungled this post with my wording. I appreciate you guys pointing me in the correct direction.

Thanks!
