Been here before...want some opinions
 

Hey guys,

I have asked these questions before. I am looking for a pro touring camaro and wanted to know what you thought of this car. I am still in the stages of looking, but I like the exterior of the car and don't think it would need much more to make it into what I want. Would like to do an ls1/t56 conversion and update the interior. I don't care for the wheels either, but it has been mini tubbed.

I would highly suggest seeing the car in person. Too cheap, so that makes me nervous. I know it needs many things, but still too cheap.

Opinions? Good starting point. While it looks OK cosmetically I see several things that indicate to me they didn't spend much time on the "details"-- which is what really makes the car and is where the real money and time is.

Little things like not polishing out the gauge lenses, the hacker looking wiring on the firewall and alternator, the old yellowed window crank knobs, universal flexy-radiator hoses, plug wires that look to be laying on the headers on the passenger side, and so on all scream to me that while the car looks good in pics you may have a handful with half-assed or rushed stuff in the mechanical (and maybe bodywork) department when you finally see it in person. Looks like they took the easy way out and a lot of corners were cut either for time, effort, or money reasons, and hopefully they didn't cut any big ones.

I've seen many a heap (mechanically and build quality) lurking under shiny paint, and while this one isn't necessarily a heap I would count on going over it very carefully and spending some money on it to fix what's wrong. Hopefully not much more is wrong than what the pictures show...

That is first and foremost. Would also need a pre purchase inspection as well.

I would stay away from it. He clearly doesn't know what he is looking at or talking about. Claims "lasar straight", yeah, viewed in the dark with no moon. Look at the left fender to door gap, hood fit, deck lid high on right side. Car would need beat on to make straight like he claims and painted again. ALso says no expense was spared and looks like alot of it was spared. Junkyard headers and master cylinder, at least clean the rechargeable K&N airfilter. I may be a little harsh but I hate ads like that. Lip stick on a pig IMO.

"no KNOWN rust issues" would worry me..

At first I thought it was scam since it looked so nice but it does need some TLC..

I would have it inspected by a professional.. trust me on this..

I Think Id pass, Painted trim cheap way out has some old school tubs no wiper motor bad fit and finish wiring under hood is under par cheap all over it, Keep looking they are out there and nice cars this car was purchased to sell and thats it! I dont want to bum you out but your 30K is hard money. spend it smart.

The fan and shroud combination; and lack of wipers/wiper motor are screaming cob job.

That is why I ask you guys.
