67 Camaro Build

Hey. Ryan in the Bay Area California. I picked up a 67 Camaro freshly media blasted and epoxy primered. All the sheet metal looks really good with the exception of the driver quarter panel and trunk area. I have reproduction steel for those areas and will be doing that along with a mini tub kit since the car is all apart anyway.

Going with an L86 8L90. I did a test fit with the drivetrain and everything fits great, so onward with the sheet metal.

Welcome to Lat-G.
Love your project
Body looks very clean
What are you thinking for color and wheel selection?
Thanks for sharing

The 8L90e fit the tunnel with no mods? Do you know what the driveline angle is? I would thin with factory frame, engine sits high, and the tunnel being factory / 8l90e being big, it'd have to be down a bit.

Looks like an excellent start to this project and looking forward to updates

I have 15” rally’s for it. Trying to keep a somewhat stock appearance from the outside. Haven’t decided on color.

Angle seems ok when comparing it to the subframe. The motor does sit a little high but when I tried to drop it down with the 69 Camaro/Nova engine stands it wouldn’t line up. The trans fits the tunnel I think due to the engine being 1.75” forward from the stock engine to trans area.

Looks like you're off to a great start.

Since my motor is a 2015 and the L83 L86 harness is pretty much identical, I used the L83 LT1swap.com guide to modify my harness myself. Great guide with lots of pictures. It took about an entire day but saved me around $600. I used a current performance ls fuse block which ran around $150.
