Carbon driveshaft Pro's & Con's ??

What are the advantages and con's of a Carbon fiber driveshaft? And who other than QA1 offers them?

I think Mark Williams Enterprises mates them too

Mark Williams does make them. Because of the very short length of my driveshaft, I went with the Mark Williams 7075 aluminum shaft since it was lighter. Up to a certain length (pretty short - around 20" IIRC), the weight of bonding the ends on a carbon shaft outweighs the weight differential between the aluminum and carbon fiber. After that the carbon shaft is lighter.

I run a carbon driveshaft in my race/Dragweek car along with several other cars. The advantages are lighter in weight for improved acceleration and if they break they turn to dust and don't beat your car all up.

Several companies make them.. PST, Driveshaft shop, Qa1 and several others. The PST is the best in my opinion.

Any concerns with a street driven car? Rock chips and such?
