Brake plumbing for LS1 disc swap
 

I have read thru numerous articles on this swap and have swapped the mechanicals over on my 69 Nova. There is not alot of info on the plumbing.

Do I need a factory style proportioning valve?
I found one post that said I need a disc/disc valve then an adjustable for the rear.
I am using an adjustable valve for the rear.

The Camaro I am also working on does not have a prop valve that the front line go in to. It has Baer brakes and DSE master.
The front line comes out of the master and tee's into the two front lines. The rear goes to an adjustable valve. The brakes seem to be working fine this way but I have only had the car up to 30mph on my road.

It would be easier and cleaner if I did not need the factory style prop valve.

No you do not need to run the prop valve, unless you want the brake warning light to function due to loss of brake fluid pressure. I always thought that was obvious and you don't need a light telling you so?

I have a similar setup (less expensive) setup in my chevelle. 05 Tahoe hyrdoboost, 80's corvette master cylinder (disc/disc, 1 1/8" bore), LS1 fbody disc brakes.

I have the front line running to a line lock / roll control valve and split going to the front brakes. Rear I have wilwood adjustable prop valve 260-8419 mounted to the same bolt as the master cylinder than a 3/16" nicop line running to the rears. 15k hard miles on it so far with 0 issues.

Thanks. I thought using a factory prop valve would be unnecessary.
I have the Wilwood adjustable, am going to mount it similar to yours but under the master. I have perfect 1/4" lines to the rear so need a couple 1/4 x 3/16 double flare adaptors for the adjustable valve.
4 parts stores and 2 hardware stores today and noone has any double flare parts except an occasional straight line segment.

I kept it basic as well. Wilwood dual master, wilwood proportioning valve on the rear brake line. Basically the exact setup as Wilwood sells it. It has worked great for me for the last few years.
