My new tiny shop

Well, finally made the move out of California a couple months ago. Settled in Medford OR to be near family. Found a house with an awesome view and a shop. But going from 2700 s.f. of shops to 900 s.f. is quite an adjustment. :confused59: Left my lift, lathe, and misc large items with the new homeowner in Ca. as it was too hard to move. Will be purchasing another lift in the future, but I have time as my car is down in Sacto for paint/body work. Also planning on getting the floor coated when money permits. One good thing is this shop has 700 s.f,. above it for storage, which helps a ton.

First three pics are my new shop, the others are what I moved from in Wilton.

Family and cost of living. California has become too expensive for me, and unfortunately IMO it's going to get worse. The state is run by idiots lol.

moving

hope you settle in quick, shame to have to have left some shop items. Moving is least of my favorite things to do. Best of luck at new address

Can't blame you for wanting to escape and having recently transplanted to a new State myself I feel your pain... :D 3/4s of what we moved from Missouri to AZ was my shop stuff, we left most of the house stuff behind. Even then I still left quite a bit of shop stuff behind as well. The real sucky part is buying it all back afterwards when you realize you still need it. :bang:

I dig the new shop and it will do everything you need with a lift!

Was it move in ready? Did you add the lights for example? And if so what did you install?

So far you’ve done a good job of keeping the yard and other house tools out of the garage. That’s where I currently struggle. Space taken up by all of the non-car stuff eats up a “normal” size shop.

Btw…what’s with the microwave? Warming up coffee between distractions?

Looking forward to see it as your vision unfolds for it Jody.

Move in ready for the most part. I pressure washed the concrete. Thought about painting the walls a different color but it had just been painted and I had a lot of other home projects to do, so I left it as-is. Lights were already in and it's very well lit.
