1969 Camaro Project @ GAP Industries

Starting life as a 1969 Camaro, this project was going to be a simple engine swap, but we all know how that goes :D

:morepower

Once the ball got rolling, our customer, Mike, decided he wanted to go a different direction with his build. Now we are in the process of getting the Speedtech suspension put together and making room for the HUGE LME 468!

The goal for the car is to dominate the autocross course at any event he will be attending. Once the build is complete we have the green light to attend some GoodGuys shows with the car and tear up the autocross course as well. So be on the look out cause this car show be showing up in the next couple of months.

I will update as we go along with various build progress pictures. Stay up to date on our social channels to see any videos that might make their way there :burnout:

Current Build Plan:
Powertrain:
LME 468 ci Naturally Aspirated LSX
Bowler 4L80

Suspension:
Speedtech Extreme Track Time Package
Baer Xtreme with 14" Rotors (could potentially change to a larger rotor size)
Forgeline 18x11 Square set up with 315's front and rear

Cosmetic:
Going to stay mostly the way it is currently, with a few minor adjustments.

ENJOY!

Good looking build. Why not consider a more interesting transmission option, like a ZF8HP?

I am not too familiar with the ZF8HP trans but quickly looking up some info on it, it seems like the bell housing has a different bolt pattern. If that is the case, keeping things a bit on the simple end so we don't need to have any additional spacers to have the fitment we need.

The combo does seem fairly popular with swaps though. Might be something we consider for the next one.

The LME motor has hit the door and we are ready for it! The 468ci is sooooooo much nicer in person and we are itching to get this car going.

Specs:
Displacement - 468ci
Crankshaft - Callies Compstar
Connecting Rods - Callies Ultra H-Beam
Pistons - Diamond
Camshaft - Comp Cams .648/.643 113
Rocker Arms - LS7 with CHE Trunnion Upgrade
Cylinder Heads - CID LS7

Plenty of more speced out goodies going on this build, stay tuned for more!

Apologies in advance for thread-jacking, but I had to look up that '71 Camaro on your website. That thing is gorgeous!

May I ask which blue that is? I have a dream in my head of a blue early second-gen I'd love to do after I win the lottery, and your blue looks close.

Can't wait to see this '69 progress too!

No worries!

The color for that Camaro is a custom Paint House color mix but the closest shelf color they will have to it is going to be Super Blue.

Very clean, the intake and valve covers set it off. What front drive do you guys have planned?

Thank you!

Looking at the Holley and Eddie Motorsports versions. Still taking a look at those options to see where we might go with it.
