Need 69 trunk lid to be more flush
1 Attachment(s)
Not much of a body guy but what adjustments do I need to make so that the trunk lid closes lower/more flush?

then loosen and remove your trunk latch and see how flush it sits...BE CAREFUL, no seals = metal on metal scratches when doing this. if the rear (tailliat) portion sits correctly but the front (rear window) sits hihg then you need to adjust the deck lidk hinges to bring it down. It's a pain in the rear, but thats why we get paid so much to adjust gaps. let us know what you find |
If it’s still sitting high without the seal then adding a shim under the rear most hinge bolts between deck lid and hinge should lower it. 1/8 should make a significant improvement.
If it’s the seal pushing it up Metro makes a seal with a hollow core that compresses more easily. If that doesn’t work don’t be afraid to cut the seal down on the side that installs in the gutter channel so it can’t be seen. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/mmp-tk46-o Don |
yes the seal I had was solid and was making things uneven, i ordered the recommended hollow version, Installed and now I’ve got factory gaps which I can live with - nice to have a simple solution and I took many naps getting it done - thanks all 🤙
