Back to Basics ??
Hi All,
Building the 65 Porsche coupe w the C5 drive posted on the site. Couple opinion questions for you. 1) Noticed that many of you don't run power brakes - Any experience with C5 standard brakes in manual mode with proper master cyl and pedal lever design would be appreciated. I prefer to go manual to help package this car. 2) Same question for power steering. I noticed that Penny has manual brakes - yet pwr steering. I have the stock vette pwr setup with stock width tire. 3) Any suggestions on usable real world front ride height w/o bags ? I have it set at 5 inches right now for the lowest frame contact point. Finish welding the fnt suspension jig this weekend thinking that 5 should work. Any lower takes the lower a-arms off level - and several threads recommend level. Many Thanks !! Jim |
You know some pics would be nice.......
I have not driven the C6-57 yet but Willwood says all that stuff should work well togther. I like manual brakes, it feels more natural. Little more pressure needed. 5 inches should be fine for ground clearance. I build some cars with no bags and 4 inche sof ground clearance. Steering is easier with a short scrub radius. But power steering is sure nice with wider tires. Rodger |
