Malibu Engine Project
After driving the car for almost a summer I realised that the car needs a better engine. So I made some burnouts (Short Movie) and after that I took the engine apart. It was quite worn and a couple piston rings came of the pistons when I took it apart.
This is the First engine I build.. :willy: ..With the first money I have ever earned. Well a new chapter http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/823/insug1gs3.gif Edelbrock Performer Intake and +.03 bore http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/6827/kolv1lc4.gif http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/9923/vev1dw3.gif I am aiming for +300hp right now. Any tips and tricks? Or do you have any better ideas for carburettors and Heads, Be my guest. |
The Carburetor and Cylinder Heads I am planing to buy.

Dont run an Edelbrick Carb. Hard to tune and dont make as much power as a holley. Let the games begin.
JEff PS, I have a 383 for sale |
Looks like a fun project. If this is your first engine you are going to learn a lot. Do you have emissions to worry about over there in Sweden? If not you might want to run a performer rpm intake instead of the performer. The air gap performer rpm is the best one. What size is your engine? 350, 305, ? What heads are those. your going to like aluminum heads. Not many out there that wouldn't give you a performance jump from stock iron. While you have it apart make sure you pay atention to the little things to like a oil pump shaft that has a steel sleve instead of the stock plastic, and a high volume oil pump. Also I would recomend using ARP fasteners for your heads, crank, and rods. What octane rating is the fuel over there? Good luck and keep us posted.

The engine size is 350 with .03 bore thats about 352 i belive. The heads are Edelbrock Performer built with 2.020" intake valve and 1.600" Exhaust valve and 64cc Chamber. The Camshaft is Sealed Power with .050 dur 230/230 Camlift .302/.302 valvelift .453/.453 Roler rockers? Okay thanks for the tips! I might sell the intake then and buy a performer instead. What carb do you recomend? The Octane here is 98(93 american?)... I am thinking of building it with E85. But i dont know what i have to do... other Ignition system and higher combustion ratio maybe. |

Yea, I have had fairly good luck with edelbrock carbs but a demon carb is better and easier to tune.
