Blower motor out of a zz430
Ok I have to ask this because the shop that is doing my motor want's an arm and a leg for putting this together. I want to ask how much it should cost to take the motor out of the car, set it up for 8-10 pounds of boost and put it back together and reinstall the motor? Also the Pully system is being mocked up and done by Frank at Prodigy Customs so there will not be a fitmit issues when it comes back from Frank. My problem is that I'm being charged a ton of money for something that doesn't seem right.
From what I understand from others is that the motor needs pistons and rods and to be rebalanced and put back in the motor. That's to keep it as a 350. To do a 383 stroker I'm being told it would be quite a bit more then that. Thoughts??? |
how much are they charging you?, SAve your money and pull the motor apart yourself, Buy the parts yourself, and just take it to a machine shop for balancing and assembly if your not comfy doing reassembly yourself

You have mail. I didn't want to post the price just yet, because it's so shocking. I will tell members though if you e-mail me.

What are they putting in it for parts?

Is this a new unfired engine, or has some miles on it? Used, even with low miles will need bearings, rings, etc. replaced plus re-machine work. R&R a motor could be several hundred dollars by itself.

Maybe I'm missing some stuff, but pistons, rods and to rebalance a motor should not cost what it costs. |

several hundered V many thousands though? |
500 miles, I wouldn't be putting bearings in it, it's still new,
New rods and pistons means new bearings and rings though and balancing, |
