DSE back spacing

I have read all the posts on DSE tub kit with quadralinks but do not see any thing on 18" x 11.5" rims with ?7.5" back spacing. The shop that is doing the work recommended these wheels sizes and 315-40 for tires. I don't see anyone with 7.5 back space?? It would be nice to have 18" x 12" with 335s but DSE said 315 if you going to drive it hard. I have stock style moser rear end and bear sport track brakes.

that's a lot of bs for an 11.5" rim. I prefer less just for looks but there's no big problems running that I guess.

It all depends on the rear end width. Most use a rear end in the 56.187" width and a 18X12.5" wheel and 6.375 to 6.5" b.s. Also most run a larger tire than that as there's plenty of room. 335/30 is the most common but the quadralink allows a 345 if you wanted.

Don't use the above numbers as absolutes, you have to do your own measuring. But the above combo has been on a few cars and works. All depends on what width rear end you're using.

Budnik Arrowheads, stock rear width (12 bolt with drums), 15 x 12" rim w/ an 8" BS. I know, old school.....but set up for drag racing.

Not sure on the 18" wheel diamater.

On my 69 mini tubbed with quadralink the backspace with stock rearend and 18x12 was 8", I narrowed the rearend 5" and went with 5.5" bs for the lippy look. So 18x11.5 with 7.5" bs would have worked on my stock rearend.

Is that a 67-8 camaro? If so DSE is right by saying the 315 is a better fit. The 335-345 tire truely fits better on the 69's due to their wider outer fenders. Yes a 335 will fit under a 67-8 but you have to roll the lips and do a 3" tub and it's still a tight fit.....personally I like my 315's, they fit well and are a balanced match to the front 245's.

Spoke with dse today they said 68 camaro will fit 335 with budnik ice 12", 5 1/2" back space, 1/2" spacer 53 3/4" rear end. They said no need to roll lip but many people say you do? 3,000.00 for rims and 1,800.00 tires so if roll has to be done I will have to do it now as it is getting painted soon.
