Project Wannabe

Well Guys I guess its time to introduce you to my first project car. Been a member for a long time but just a dreamer or a wannabe until now. I decided to post it here but am unsure if I will set it up in member’s rides now or wait until the money is available for some mods. Sorry for the low quality pics. Will try to clean it up a bit and post some better when I can.

You ever had one of those deals that you could not turn down?

My luck has never been that good when it comes to finding the great deals. Once I found a 1956 Chevy pickup that the owner only wanted $1000 and it was running! He sold it 30 minutes before I found it. But hopefully my luck has finally changed.

In 2002, my little brother bought a 1969 Mustang convertible and even though it was a Ford, I was jealous as hell. This brought about many a discussion of “Bad Bowtie” vs “Blue Oval” ribbing. Having always been a Camaro fan, I always figured we would one day race our project cars or at least have something to argue about.

Then about two years ago, My brother got back into diving and parked his Mustang, only driving it a few times per year. Soon the discussions about cars disappeared and the conversations turned to spearfishing and evading sharks. Then he bought a boat. For those of you who have one, you may already know Boat stands for Bring On Another Thousand.

Now he wants a bigger boat. Where to get funds? You guessed it, time to sell the car that hasn’t been run in almost six months. Lucky for me, I have a new job with a raise and the time was just right. And also being the awesome brother he is, he sold it to me for a lot less than he could’ve got on the market. But I wonder if I will ever live down crossing over from the "Bad Bowtie" to a "Blue Oval." :_paranoid

So without further ado:

Budget P/T build for the future. Currently plans are to do a Power Rack & Pinion to make it drive better. Then work on the stance and wheels and tires. But for a while I am just gonna drive it and enjoy it.

Looks like you have great start for your project. I am a Chevy guy too. An old time hot rodder told me one time, "Cars are like women, If you can't get the perfect one it should at least be topless!" I know, pretty bad but most still agree. Good luck what will surely be a great project, keep the pictures coming.

Thats awesome Russ! Glad you waited. If you would have bought something else...you wouldn't have been able to get that one.

Looks great even before you start making your own changes.

Congrats.
